From Logansport, Indiana, The Rousers bring an evocative depth to the modern Americana stage. Composed of husband-wife songwriters Rick and Lita Rouser, this dynamic acoustic duo are known for their intimate, narrative-driven performances and unmistakable onstage chemistry.

Their music carries a distinct and unexpected edge to the Americana music front. Their unique sound has been categorized as twisted torch. Traditional torch songs focus on romantic yearning, heartbreak and the slow-burning ache of unrequited love. The Rousers take that blueprint and twist it — infusing smoky, melancholic vulnerabilities with the grit of modern acoustic music and sharp, unpredictable storytelling. Their signature sound balances crisp acoustic instrumentation with an intertwining vocal that carries a bittersweet, emotional weight, immediately drawing audiences into their world.

Their 2025 performance on The Wild Rose Moon Radio Hour — broadcast PBS Michiana and WVPE Public Radio — reinforced their status as skilled regional storytellers. Outside of the duo, Lita has written songs for years, at times co-writing with others, including Grammy winner and Nashville standout Amanda Colleen Williams. Rick's versatility shines as a rhythm guitarist for a regional rock band Twisted Riddlers, bringing an added layer of musical pocket and groove to The Rousers' acoustic arrangements.
